Paper Matters
When I choose materials for my art, I’m thinking about how they feel, how they hold color, and how they stand the test of time. The paper I use—whether it’s for an original painting or a fine art print—is a big part of the experience. It needs to carry not just the image, but the energy behind it.
For Originals
I paint my gouache and watercolor pieces on 140 lb cotton watercolor paper. It’s thick and textured enough to hold every detail—from the softest washes to the boldest brushstrokes. This paper lets the water flow naturally, so the painting can unfold in its own rhythm. It’s become a trusted part of my process.

For Prints
For my fine art prints, I’ve chosen a beautiful hemp and cotton blend paper from Hahnemühle. It has a soft, lightly textured surface and a bright natural white tone—with no added brighteners. The colors come through clearly, and the texture gives the print a subtle richness without distracting from the image.
I love that it’s made from sustainable hemp fibers and has a naturally elegant feel—strong, earthy, and clean.
